OUR MENTORS
PRINCIPAL'S MUSINGS
Tough times don’t define you; they refine you.”
Carlos A. Rodriguez
Perspective of Life has evolved in recent days. Humanity has seen a volte - face. Instead of just ‘sitting by idly’, we need to ‘stand tall’. It is the right time to nurture a rediscovered relationship with Nature. The quantum jump has also opened new avenues. The Pandemic provided schools with opportunity to turn a laptop screen into a classroom. We, at DAV Sector 14, Faridabad took it as a challenge. We switched to E-Learning in order to accommodate to every learner’s needs, scalability and consistency. For this, we adopted and implemented efficacious plan of action, to bridge the gap between the school, students and teachers.Virtual interactions and guidance to students revived monotonous confinement. The psycho-dynamics has reinvigorated holistic development among students.
We proudly present our new E-newsletter 'Renaissance’ to exhibit the aesthetic and artistic streak of our students. A glimpse of all creative activities is incorporated in it. This E–edition is a gamut of our literary as well as creative prowess. The work of Editorial team scaled from conception of ideas, to writing, editing and designing. I congratulate the entire team for their diligence and dedication.

EDITOR'S MESSAGE
“With you the child in me grew up again
Watching you learn,
learning again was what I gained.”
The bond between the teacher and students is that of mutual love, ascent and everlasting learning experiences. During the unprecedented experience of Lockdown period, the collaborative efforts of the triad of teachers, parents and children established that
‘Learning must go on’ and it inspired us to launch an E-newsletter to celebrate the new era of E-schools.
It gives us immense pleasure in bringing out the first edition of our
E-newsletter ‘RENAISSANCE’ successfully. Renaissance: as the present is a time of revival of humanitarian values, revival of relationships, revival of Nature, revival of leisurely pursuits, all the traits which were very much hidden within us due to the mad rut of life.
On behalf of my whole team, I would like to express deep gratitude to our effervescent Principal Mrs. Anita Gautam for her constant support and encouragement for this new venture.
I also thank the Editorial board for their whole-hearted contribution in the successful launching of our E-newsletter.

....AND WE WENT DIGITAL
Online sessions of brainstorming, numerous meetings of peer training and a lot of discussion on usage of technology; and DAVPS, Sec-14, Faridabad was ready to embark upon a glorious journey during the pandemic – ONLINE CLASSES.
Our pace of innovation was even amplified when we shifted from Zoom to MS Teams and even conducted Online Exams through Microsoft Forms. Parents also became co-educators in this process.
Bravo! Here we are! Executing splendidly and Inspiring our students positively, with our technical and intellectual pursuits…
Vivacious primary wing
- Fostering smiles
A versatile teacher rightly said, “I call my students my KIDS because in our time together, they are not just names on a class list; they become a part of my heart”.This statement reverberates through the spontaneous actions of all the teachers of Primary Wing. When Covid entirely altered the world of tiny tots and they direly needed a sense of security, teachers energetically looked for new ways to connect with the children.
Students of class I and class II were introduced to activities like Create your twin, Paper bag making, Best out of waste, Puppet making.
Such a beautiful sight to behold,
Such views to savour.
It’s our lovely little world,
Let’s preserve it together!
This frame of reference echoed loudly when children actively engaged themselves in Earth Day activities online.Online competitions organised by HDFC Bank, D.A.V Kailash Hills, CSIR and Darbari Lal D.A.V Model School got enthralling responses. Children were zealous to exhibit their brilliance in Digital Story Telling Competition and Slogan Writing Competitionand Empyrean, 2020.
Our revered Principal Ms.Anita Gautam firmly believes that children who are aesthetically alive are positive and happy ones. With her unflinching support we initiated English Enrichment Programme in the joyous month of June for the students of classes III to V to develop their stupendous skill sets of Speaking, Reading, Listening and Creative Writing.
A roller coaster ride! A crisis well transformed into a phenomenal opportunity! A momentous online partnership nurturing our children.Yes,our children with multifaceted personalities and humane sensibilities.

COMPUTER DEPARTMENT
The pandemic raised a serious threat to the very existence of schools. A school is not confined to infrastructure and this was proved true by the Computer Department.Initial classes were conducted on Zoom app which was later shifted to Microsoft Teams. The Department trained the colleagues not only for virtual classes but assessment as well. A summer camp was organized online to give students some break from studies and keep them engaged as well. Students learnt new software like Adobe Spark and Scratch. Over 200 students participated in Computer Workshops and designed different activities.Along with Academics, various online competitions groomed the students . The school won a prize in story making in Scratch Software thus climbing another ladder of success.
CREATIVITY IMBIBED BY THE STUDENTS
ART SPEAKS WHAT WORDS ARE UNABLE TO EXPLAIN

“Helping one person might not change the whole world, but it could change the world for one person.” Counselling is an integral part of our education system whether it is Career Counselling or Behavioral Counselling. Mrs.Poonam Gupta, the school counselor initiated online counselling and skill development programmes virtually. Students are being counselled telephonically. Workshops and Seminars on different topics are also being organised regularly for parents, teachers as well as students.
A YouTube channel has also been created for the students covering topics like Careers and Self-development where students get comprehensive advice on Career, Courses and Jobs. This would enable them to make an informed choice after school life gets over.
A Facebook page has also been created for students giving them information about different entrance exams.
The best is being done to make the students competent enough to face the competitive world outside their school.

WILL THE DOOR OPEN AGAIN?
-BY AKSHARA S. NAIR
A version of humanism,
Renaissance is the rectification.
In fifteen of literature and classicism,
In twenty-one of humanity and unification.
Lately Namaste was ritualistic,
Customs were replaced,
Embracing was iconic,
Novel as well as advanced.
Presently executed by more and more,
Discounting all confines,
Recouping to the Indian lore,
As with current snitch namaste chimes.
Renaissance of compassion,
Aptitude, nature and intellect.
The virus is not an illusion,
It's a tocsin don't neglect.
Don't let the foregone inherit,
For all of us shall perish.
Don't let the restraint abide unfit,
This way we all shall cherish.
Mother nature will transform to hell,
It is time for all to awaken.
If I ring the bell,
Will the door open again?
Benjamin Franklin
Grip the revolution in your fist.
It is the best time to introspect, your reasons to exist.
Nature is blessed with an overwhelming twist.
Can’t you still figure out, what’s hidden behind the mist?
Time to be a healthy diversionist,
Evolve learning, groom skills and be a strategist.
Go back to roots, cultivate values and don’t just be a ritualist.
Meditate, do charity only then you will be a true, Visionist.
Time to be REALIST

EARTH LAUGHS IN FLOWER
by Suman Yadav
Nature-”the realm of living plants and animals ,art of God ,indifferent to our love but never unfaithful , always laughing and smiling to brighten our days.” The forces of mother nature are around us for all to see, from dramatic volcano eruptions and tidal waves to the every day wonders like dappled sunlight or birdsong .Human body is the best creation of Nature's magic .Man by nature is creature eager to taste beauty ,and there is nothing more beautiful than nature .The most striking of these is the unique diversity in colors around us ,which created a wonderful natural painting .Colors are the smiles of nature .The most beautiful gift of nature is that it gives one pleasure to look around and try to comprehend what we see. Man's heart away from nature becomes hard . Anyone who thinks fallen leaves are dead, has never watched them dance on a windy day .The pessimist complains about the wind .The optimist expects it to change .The leader adjust the same.“As bolt -struck the swollen clouds ,quenching pearl pellets fell down to the earth,to revive every soul's never ending thirst.”Nature, time and patience are the three great physicians .Nature always bears the colors of the spirit .It is possibly the world's best teacher of how to be truly present and have awareness in daily life . Nature is a portal to discover the secrets of the past .It's all written in the land .Storms may come and trees may fall but when the wind dies down, the clouds will always clear and the sun will always return. The same is true for everything in life.”An inflexible tree breaks in a storm ”- when things go wrong don't stand around and complain, assess your options and move forward . Listen to a bird singing at dawn in midst of a storm and you'll begin to understand the real art of happiness. Animals are great teachers of emotional resiliency .”Life sucks a lot less when you add mountain air ,a campfire and some peace and quite“. Learning to experience the gift of life through our senses in nature helps us to feel thankful for all the amazing things that we have in our world . Take some time to appreciate life . If we surrendered to earth's intelligence we could rise up rooted, like trees . Nature is as well adapted to our weakness as to our strength . The pain you feel today will be the strength you feel tomorrow so always work hard ; You get what you focus on so focus in what you want . Choose only one master -nature ,find your soul ,don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds you plant ,fly above the negativity ,train yourself and keep going .Nature is not our enemy ,to be raped and conquered . Nature is ourselves, to be cherished and explored . I'd rather have roses on my table than diamonds on my neck.’
